I am a sculptor working primarily with stone, and secondarily with plaster and bronze. In an art world that often priorities industrial or ephemeral materials, my practice reclaims stone as a vital contemporary medium. By working with marble, alabaster and limestone—materials used since the dawn of sculpture—I invite viewers to reconnect with the deep history of making, while simultaneously challenging stone’s conventional associations of permanence, weight and rigidity.

Through skilled carving and surface transformation, I alter the material until its origins become almost unrecognizable. My focus is not to present stone as an object of display, but to reshape it into a vehicle for narrative, emotion and myth. I draw on classical mythology and paintings of masters such as Titian, Rubens and Leighton, using transcription as a means of reinterpreting the representation of women in art history. These mythological figures help me explore themes of resilience, power, identity and the often-overlooked strength of women.

Working in an abstract visual language, I use folds, rhythm, texture and movement to translate the emotional charge of painted imagery into sculptural form. Abstraction allow me to represent gesture, tension and vulnerability into a physical form that can be touch and experience in a spatial encounter.

By shifting attention away from stone’s perceived hardness toward its capacity for softness, fluidity and intimacy, I reposition the material as something sensuous and responsive—capable of carrying both ancient narratives and contemporary emotional experience.
